We are looking for a passionate and skilled Cook to start immediately at Five Dock, NSW.

This is a full-time position working in a brand new facility featuring an exceptional kitchen environment.

What you will be doing:

• Preparing, serving and disposing of food to all applicable Australian Standards – ensuring it exceeds the expectations and needs of the children and families
• Ensuring all meals served to children (0-6yrs), are high quality, nutritious and safe for them to consume in consideration of age, allergies, anaphylaxis, preferences, family requests and culture
• Ordering groceries (refrigerated, frozen and pantry) as guided by policy and Centre Manager
• Mentoring new kitchen staff
• Support exceeding operation of the service against NQF standards
• Leading and fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, respect and empowerment with all staff

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in working as a chef/cook – in an education setting is highly desirable 
• Cooking qualifications including up to date food handling certificate 
• knowledge of safe and appropriate food for children, incl. allergy an dietary requirements
• knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures related to kitchen and food safety 
• a commitment to adhering to and promoting a child safe environment 
• Working with Children Check clearance.
