Food Service Assistant

Froebel Alexandria is one of five early learning services run by the not-for-profit provider Froebel Australia. We are looking for a reliable part-time Food Assistant to prepare and serve morning and afternoon tea (cut fruit and vegetables, portion yogurt etc.) and heat up and serve lunch which is delivered by our specialised caterer as well as taking care of the dishes and general cleaning of the kitchen to ideally start in early February (later start negotiable).

  • a part-time role with 27.5 hours per week worked Mondays from 8.30am to 3.40pm and Tuesdays to Fridays from 10.30 am to 3.40pm (not suitable for students with a 48h/fortnight work limitation),

We need you to

  • hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or be willing to obtain one) (https://www.foodauthority.nsw.gov.au/retail/childrens-services)
  • be knowledgeable and extremely diligent with food allergies and intolerances 
  • have an interest in woking around young children 
  • have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and grow trusting relationships with colleagues, families and community members
  • last but definitely not least: have a sunny personality with a positive attitude! 🙂
