Early Childhood Educator
A magical opportunity exists to work in an early childhood centre based in the Victorian High Country, where ‘out the gate learning’ provides the opportunity to explore Australia’s stunning flora and fauna and even the snow!
We are seeking casual Early Childhood Educators who are passionate and enthusiastic about providing high-quality education and care to our ‘youngest community members’ at our small but charming licenced childcare centre at Falls Creek Alpine Resort. Our centre offers a creative and innovating long day-care, with an integrated kinder program. Operating from 8:30am – 5pm Monday - Friday and then 7 days a week during the declared snow season.
Key accountabilities:
- Maintain Children's Daily Routine: Ensure the smooth implementation of daily schedules, including mealtimes, nap times, toileting needs and educational activities, to provide a stable and nurturing environment for the children.
- Ensure Health and Safety: Vigilantly monitor and address the health and safety needs of all children, adhering to established protocols and guidelines to create a safe and supportive space for their growth and development.
- Build and Maintain Positive Relationships: Foster strong, positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff, and the community to deliver the best outcomes for families and children.
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role?
- Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent);
- Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification HLTAID0412
- ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis, CPR and emergency asthma management training (if not covered by the above
- Knowledge of Story Park and KidSoft (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of early childhood development and education.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Physically capable of taking on demands of caring for and carrying young children and equipment (including on varied terrain)
- A LOVE of the outdoors, including the rain, hail, shine and of course…Snow!
- Flexibility in work hours, including weekends (during the declared snow season approx. June to 30 September)
The successful candidate will be required to:
- have full Australian working rights. International applicants are required to obtain their own visa with valid Australian work rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Have an Australian drivers licence (Victorian licence preferred)
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
