About the role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to make a real impact in the lives of young learners? First Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, inspire children, and grow as an educational leader in a nurturing environment.

As an Educational Leader, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a high-quality educational program that enhances children's learning and development. This role involves collaborating with educators, providing curriculum direction, supporting reflective practices, and fostering a culture of professional inquiry. As an Educational Leader, you will ensure that children's learning aligns with Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF, 2022)  and best practices in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support children in their learning and development
  •  Plan and deliver engaging and creative learning
  • Foster an inclusive, positive and inspiring classroom environment
  • Documenting Progress: Detailed records are maintained, capturing key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  •  Setting Individual Goals: Based on observations, tailored learning goals are established to support each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development (EYLF, 2022 & NQS, 2028).
  • Provide direction and guidance to educators in curriculum planning and implementation
  • Build a culture of professional inquiry to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with educators, and centre director to reflect on teaching practices and generate innovative ideas.
  • Engage with families to develop a shared understanding of children’s learning and development.
  • Conduct parent-teacher meetings to collaborate on children's learning and development, addressing concerns and setting shared goals.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Qualification in Early Childhood Education – Bachelor of Teaching or Studying towards Bachelor of teaching – ACECQA Approved.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning and leadership in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EYLF, 2022 and play-based learning approaches.
  • Ability to mentor, support, and inspire educators in their professional development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong reflective and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional learning.
