Childcare Assistant (Educator
Swan Academy is seeking passionate and responsible Childcare Assistant (Educator) to join our dedicated early learning team. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to supporting the learning and development of young children within a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality educational and recreational programs that align with the EYLF and the Swan Academy philosophy
- Prepare and set up materials and equipment for daily learning and play activities
- Supervise children during play, rest, meal, and transition times, ensuring safety and engagement
- Support children’s individual learning and social development through structured and unstructured activities
- Guide and model appropriate behaviour, supporting children’s emotional and social regulation
- Conduct and facilitate learning experiences including reading, games, storytelling, art, and music
- Monitor and assist with children’s hygiene routines such as toileting, handwashing, and mealtimes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment in accordance with WHS policies
- Observe and document children’s development and learning outcomes in accordance with EYLF principles
- Collaborate respectfully and professionally with other educators, families, and community members
- Assist with the induction and support of new staff, students, and volunteers
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions
- Maintain compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, including child protection requirements
- Respond appropriately to accidents or emergencies, administering first aid where necessary and ensuring incidents are recorded and reported
Essential Qualifications:
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards)
- HLTAID004/HLTFA311A – Provide First Aid
- Accredited Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training
- CHCPRT001 – Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk
